OpenAI publishes APIs for building applications with models and tools. Use its official platform documentation to distinguish API access from consumer products.

Identity and scope

An OpenAI API operation, a ChatGPT product and an external MCP integration are different services. A matching name is not provider endorsement.

2. Review current permissions, data handling and priced usage.
3. Keep external integrations distinct from the model provider.
